Copper brazed plate heat exchangers are suitable for the following media:
- Oils, glycol, alcohol, air, water, refrigerant and many more according to the material resistance
- Group 2 fluids to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC
Copper brazed plate heat exchangers are not suitable for the following media:
- Silicone oils, deionized water, seawater, strong chloride media, NH3, and strong acids and bases
- Explosive, strong, flammable,
highly toxic liquid media from the Group 1 of the
Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC
Ingredients allowed for water.

A high calcium content leads in time deposits and can clog the heat exchanger.
Copper-brazed plate heat exchangers may not be used with galvanized pipes.
For applications with deionized water, ammonia, and silicon oils are
nickel brazed plate heat exchangers
recommended. For chlorine-loaded applications, such as swimming pools is
the material AISI 316L with
higher
corrosion resistance and nickel as solder recommended. |
